Nursing Homes Week 2014 will celebrate the excellent care provided by NHI Member Homes in our local communities across the country.

This year's annual celebration of the positivity of nursing home life will take place Monday 16th June - Sunday 22nd June.

NHI member homes are happy positive environments that provide excellent care to older persons. They are 'home from home' settings for 17,000+ older persons and employ dedicated staff who provide fantastic care and friendship to persons living in nursing homes.

The activities and events will encompass family days, parties, music, arts and crafts, activity sessions, day trips, barbeques, reminiscence, games, talks, exhibitions, cooking, gardening.

Who's celebrating?

Across Ireland, NHI Members will organise activities and event to celebrate and promote nursing home life. They will bring together nursing home residents and their families and friends, staff, visitors and wider communities together. A listing of NHI Member Homes is provided via link below.

Anything else occuring during Nursing Homes Week 2014?

Rewarding and fulfilling employment opportunities within the sector will be promoted nationally during the week. NHI Member Homes place emphasis on continuous professional development and are stimulating and immensely rewarding environments to work within. An NHI Oireachtas Open Day will also take place in Leinster House on Wednesday 18th June to inform TDs and Senators of significant pressures being brought to bear upon the sector in care delivery.
