NHI invites applications for the post of Membership and Operations Manager (new position)

Nursing Homes Ireland is the representative organisation for the private and voluntary nursing home sector. The private and voluntary nursing home sector, through its 447 homes is providing care and a “home from home” for 23,000 persons which accounts for 75% of all long term care beds in the country.

NHI is now at a critical phase in further developing services and – with a growing membership – we are now looking to fill an exciting senior management position.

We are looking for an experienced Membership and Operations Manager, coming from the not-for-profit sector, or a similar membership organisation, with strong experience in people management, excellent motivational skills, and very strong administrative and general management abilities.

Experience within the health sector or similar would be advantageous. This position will involve multi-tasking to manage a dynamic and varied team, with major emphasis on supporting the membership through direct contact and through the services offered by NHI. The successful candidate will have real customer focus, with the ability to take decisions, manage a small team of employees effectively, and show their leadership and strengths in a multi-dimensional role.

 

Requirements:

1)      The candidate should have a third level degree and/or relevant business qualification

2)      Strong financial background, finance qualification would be an advantage

3)      Proven management experience in a complex organisation with gravitas and strength in decision making

4)      Proven experience of managing employees in a positive, supportive organisation will be essential

5)      Experience of senior level working groups and committee work

6)      Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

7)      Knowledge and understanding of current health care environment and experience working in the healthcare sector would be advantageous

8)      Experience managing multi-disciplined teams and supporting numerous stakeholders

9)      Very strong client/customer focused background

10)  Experience in marketing and customer services will be beneficial

11)  Proven track record in a similar position

The Membership and Operations manager will require national travel to meet with NHI members regionally and nationally. Additionally, there will be an occasional requirement to attend meetings in the evenings.  Full driving licence and own transport required.
