e-Vetting
The Department of Justice and Equality has advised it plans to commence the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012 to 2016 at the end of April 2016, with the Friday 29th April being the likely commencement date.
The big fundamental change that will come into effect as a result of commencement of the Act is the introduction of Electronic Vetting (E Vetting). E Vetting will mean vetting applications will be completed online and this will replace the current paper-vetting process. The vetting process, whereby NHI are the authorised body to manage the submission of Garda vetting applications on behalf of the sector, remains.
Please note, the Garda Vetting application form is now obsolete.
